Toronto COVID-19: public health inequalities
Toronto, often heralded as a beacon of global cosmopolitanism in Canada, is nonetheless a city rife with societal inequalities that have become exacerbated by years of public underfunding by multiple governments across the political spectrum.
With the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic, the disparities in public health across Toronto’s 25 wards (down from 44 wards as a result of Doug Ford’s Conservative party’s policies) are more evident than ever. This article aims to breakdown some major facets to the inequities of the Ontario government’s handling of the Covid-19 pandemic as experienced in the City of Toronto.
